shroom_boiwait no this is not about vacationing, i already talked about that lmao
oops
at least i can say that one of the teas we bought is fucking awesome!
so already during my easter vacation i'd been chatting with this girl from my shadowrun group and we basically just wanted to meet up to write together and then we set a... what do you call a platonic date in english? like, we just met up as friends? idk, we set that for last saturday, whiiiiich i was excited about bc i'd never done a writing hangout thing
but first i had my doctor's appointment onnnnnn thursday? where i got told that "basically you know how your body needs iron to survive? yea you got none lol" so i'm on iron supplements now that are sorta more hardcore than the regular stuff and then also something for mood lifting / anti-depressant things doing. which is kind of... look i don't wanna complain because obviously those are good things, but you know when meds have a really faint taste / smell and you already feel like you'll have to throw up just from getting a taste or something by accident? y e a h. esp the mood lifting stuff is. so nasty. but ya kno, it helps.
also i'm still cracking up a little about when the doctor told me my iron stats because he was like "so this is the normal amount, and you have.... basically nothing".
on friday i actually tried to fix my bike, finally, because the bike stand has been broken since all those big storms aaaaages ago (literally broken. it's solid metal, and it broke off because of the force with which my bike fell over) but it turns out that it doesn't want to be fixed. so now i have to use logic and such other crazy stats.
and i only have three points on logic.
was that a good segue to the light of my life, my shadowrun oc crome? she's an orc who had all her limbs replaced by cyberware and for Reasons and that naturally also means that she has a grenade launcher in her arm. and other weaponry inside her body. and a flame thrower built into her harley davidson. you know. cause that's how it be sometimes. i might talk more about her backstory one day but for now lemme just say that i love her and her inventory of grenades and precisely 100 apples.
i got the ground rule book on the same day where we were gonna meet up to build characters because... well, i've heard that creating a shadowrun character can be a little bit complicated and since i can't run the character generating program on my laptop the book is the next best choice. so i got the book. and then i thought i'd just read the book a little. and then suddenly it was already time to go to the actual meeting and i'd only barely understood how character building works. i also had no idea what kind of character i'd even want.
the gm is a pretty experienced player as well and he knew it was going to be complicated, so he didn't just bring half his library of extension books (which he always brings) but he also brought an actual power point presentation and an interactive map of the city we're playing in.
so i built crome and slowly started getting an idea of who she was, which was cool. and it was SO much fun to listen to everyone else either fighting with the rules and the system or making up super weird shit.
seriously, the best part of the game is the other people, because you do so much of bouncing ideas or fun character aspects off each other, and it's very deliberately all in good fun. we had one game we played a few weeks ago where we sat with the two elves opposing the two orcs and a dwarf in between and we were just constantly sniping at each other (elves hate orcs and vice versa) and the dwarf's player was new and i don't think he knew what was happening.
this time we were a different constellation, with one player i actually didn't know at all, but it was still so amazing to hear all the weird cracky stuff everyone kept coming up with.
we didn't do much of a run and certainly didn't get any money, but we got a sort of regular contract that way. so that was sweet!
then on saturday i had planned to meet up with my friend from shadowrun and get ice cream and write together. except it ended up raining and the café was full, so we went to her place and then we just did shadowrun stuff the whole time instead of writing :D that was seriously awesome. because she's just as enthusiastic about the game as i am but we also share many other interests and opinions and at the same time she's SO not socially draining me, which is often a big issue for me. and it's weird, because we've met four times by now for shadowrunning, during which we never talked much because obviously we were playing, and then one time we walked home together afterwards and we ended up talking for a whole hour outside my building (at 1am, and it was cold as FUCK but we had SO much fun at the same time) and then we met up this saturday and it honestly felt like we'd known each other forever. not necessarily because we like exactly the same things or anything, but we just clicked.
obviously it could still turn out that she's actually a right wing hooligan... but i doubt it :D
but yeah we accidentally didn't write at all but also talked about our respective stories and our studies and recced each other books and obviously we talked about shadowrun and horses and cooking and politics and whatnot. and just through that i got loads more ideas for crome and ended up finishing her.
soooo then we decided to meet up again this monday to actually write. which we did! and that sorta turned into her staying over for seven hours and we talked about our stories more and just about a bunch of other stuff and once again it was just really great. also her story sounds great and i'll get to read it, so i'm super excited about that too!
i also resowed a bunch of plants today since i found out why the last bunch failed. i also got my balcony into summer shape again.
other than that it's been a quiet few days. i'm drawing close to finishing part two of sunrises, which is good bc i need to have that damn story done so i can focus on my other stories and also on drawing again.
and then ofc tomorrow the eddu will arrive :3 which i'm VERY VERY excited about!
